Nashua Mobile is set to plant over 550 trees in Riverlea, Soweto, near Soccer City, as part of their drive to green and beautify South Africa and also to improve quality of life in communities where it does business. These trees will be planted through the Food & Trees for Africa’s Trees for Homes programme for 550 residents of this new settlement.

Boxing champ Baby Jake Matlala will be in attendance alongside members of the community to celebrate the symbolic planting of the first tree on Friday, 9 July 2010, at Wilhemina Hoskins Primary School. These trees will contribute to leaving a greener legacy for residents in this area near to the now famous stadium.

To date, this initiative has converted 6 6217 subscribers to electronic billing and raised R 662 170 for FTFA, helping this organisation to plant 4,668 trees, with plans for another 2,400 trees to be planted over the next 3 months.
